Due to consistent growth and untapped opportunity, we are searching for a special individual to join our dynamic team as Business Development Specialist.
This Business Development professional will reach out and build relationships with state and local purchasing entities, offering our services (free to the agency), ultimately saving the organization time and money.
If you are a sales "hunter" with exceptional communication skills and relationship skills this role may be for you! You will be expected to aggressively pursue contacts and opportunities within public agencies in your assigned geography while being supported by a team of researchers and other successful business development professionals and managers, all encouraging providing tools to ensure your success.
You will work out of our east Louisville, Kentucky office with occasional travel to client offices, auction locations and trade shows.
Sales Activities Include:
- Daily outbound cold calls and emails to prospects provided by the Marketing team
- Research clients, identify key players and generate interest
- Assist Area Directors and company President in closing sales and achieving quotas
- Maintain a database of all sales and prospecting activities in provided CRM, Sugar
- Deliver effective online presentations to prospects and/or assist with presentation preparation
- Stay up to date with industry knowledge, trends, and market developments by attending webinars, subscribing to Google Alerts, and subscribing to any position related newsletters/blogs
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Strong phone presence and experience making dozens of calls per day
- Proficient with web-based presentation tools
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Direct business-to-business/complex-sales experience desired
- Experience working with government or procurement a plus
- Bachelor’s degree
