Position Overview: The Credit/Collections Analyst is responsible for analyzing credit data, following up with customers on credit and debt issues, and managing aging accounts. This role also supports the receipt and accounting of funds paid to the organization, ensuring the accuracy of invoices and adherence to proper accounting procedures for the receipt of payments for goods and services.
Essential Functions
- Analyze credit data and financial information for new applicants and existing accounts to assess the risk involved in extending short-term credit or lending funds.
- Evaluate customer records and recommend payment terms based on their credibility, payment history, and purchase activity.
- Collaborate directly with customers and/or management to resolve credit issues or outstanding debt.
- Review individual or commercial account files and work with management to determine if accounts should be submitted for collection to third-party agencies.
- Coordinate the follow-up of customer issues with operations managers.
- Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
- Maintain accurate records by reconciling invoices, payments, debits, and credits.
- Verify the validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from the operational team and customers.
- Resolve valid or authorized deductions by entering appropriate adjusting entries.
- Summarize receivables by maintaining customers’ accounts, verifying totals, and preparing reports.
- Protect the organization's value by maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Maintain effective communication with the internal team and third-party receivable services.

- 3 – 5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, credit administration, or a similar role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required, Word preferred)
- Knowledge of sales tax
- Experience with Intellidealer is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent
