As a Performance Software Engineering Intern you will learn to create tests, test, and monitor the performance of the system's components to prevent, detect, and address performance issues. You will learn how to analyze the system's performance and collaborate with other teams to solve performance problems. You will learn what to avoid in order to create performant software. You will be working on a cloud-based open source project, FOLIO, with experienced engineers from around the world. FOLIO has gained popularity and adoption in recent years, including but not limited to the Library of Congress, MOBIUS consortium, and others.What You'll DoCollaborate with your team to design and create performance test scriptsTest and analyze the system's performanceCollaborate with other team members to address any performance issuesLearn about deploying and configure applications on AWS servicesWork with cutting-edge software development processes and tools such as Git, Jira, JMeter, New RelicAbout YouCurrently pursuing or recently completed a degree (bachelors or masters) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, Computer Engineering or other Technical related degree or equivalent experience.Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Java, C#) and cloud technologiesFamiliarity with SQL technologies such as PostgreSQLBasic understanding of software development principles and methodologiesStrong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skillsAs part of the EIS Summer Intern Program, interns receive a dedicated orientation program starting on June 2 nd and participate in enrichment and training events with fellow interns across the company.
