One of our clients in the government domain is looking for a DB2 z/OS Administrator
Onsite - Columbus, OH
Years of Experience required- 15 years
Responsibilities:
Critical production support for DB2, SQL Server, and Teradata applications.
Upgrade DB2 z/OS to the latest supported version.
Install and Configure Always on HA and DR with multiple nodes on the Windows Server Failover Clustering.
Coordinate upgrade activities with DAS/OIT, Vendors, and Application development.
Conduct performance tuning for the Database system and the application including thez/OS and Windows platforms.
Assist project teams with technical solutions. Lead the Data Modeling for the new applications and enhancements.
Train junior DBAs in database technology.
Respond to and resolve "production down" and critical system and application problems and issues on a 24-hour basis, create a Root Cause Analysis for the incident, and take measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Mandatory Requirements (Including Certifications and Years Performing)
Senior level experience with IBM Mainframe family of products.
Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve issues.
Desired Requirements (Including Certifications and years performing)
Strong experience with DB2 and SQL Server.
Experience with Teradata is a plus.
Knowledge of RACF is a plus.
Required Skills:
15 years of Database Administration Experience.
Excellent Automation and Scripting Skills
Senior-level experience with IBM Mainframe family of products
Diagnosing and resolving issues
Experience working in a 24x7 production environment
Experience in working with OIT a plus
Desired Skills:
Strong Experience with DB2 and SQL Server
Experience with Teradata, Linux, Windows Server
Nice to Have:
Knowledge of RACF
