Network Engineer (Meraki Systems)

One of our clients in the government domain is looking for a Network and Security Engineer with deep expertise in Cisco Meraki technologies, Skilled in designing and implementing secure, high-performance networks using next-generation firewalls (Cisco FTD, Firepower series, ANS Cloud Firewalls), and a strong understanding of networking protocols. Adept in integrating Meraki and Catalyst systems, managing Aruba wireless platforms, and optimizing enterprise network security and connectivity.

Hybrid: Mostly remote, but may need to report to the TEC building in London, OH 43140, as needed

Long Term Contract

Years of Relevant Experience: 10 plus years

The candidate will be required to report on-site to pick up equipment on the first day.

Rate: $31/hr on W2 Max

Responsibilities:

• Providing expertise in Cisco Meraki-based technologies
• Understanding of Meraki RSTP
• Understanding of Meraki switch setup
• Understanding of Meraki & Catalyst setup
• Meraki models: MS350-48FP, MS120-8FP, MS425-16, MS425-32
• Demonstrating knowledge working with networking protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, IPSEC, TCP/IP, and MPLS).
• Leading the design and architecture of Next Generation Firewall solutions tailored to meet the organization's security and business requirements.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into effective firewall configurations.
• Implementing and deploying NGFW solutions based on industry s best practices in the industry, ensuring high levels of security, availability, and performance.
• Reviewing and updating firewall policies to address emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
• Designing, configuring, and maintaining IPSEC VPN tunnels to establish secure communication channels between remote offices, third-party partners, and cloud environments.
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to VPN connectivity and performance.
• Implementing Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF) to enhance network segmentation and isolation.
• Collaborating with IT teams, security analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of NGFW solutions.

Required Skills:

• Expertise in Cisco Meraki-based technologies, Meraki RSTP, Meraki switch setup, and Meraki & Catalyst setup
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into effective firewall configurations.
• Designing, configuring, and maintaining IPSEC VPN tunnels to establish secure communication channels between remote offices and third-party partners.
• Configuring and managing Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) to facilitate efficient and scalable routing within the organization's network infrastructure
• MS350-48FP, MS120-8FP, MS425-16, MS425-32,
• FTD Firewalls (FTD on ASA5525-x, FTD on firepower 2130, firewall 3120 Threat Defense, firepower 1120 with FTD, firewall 3110 Threat Defense), ANS Cloud Firewalls.
• Being very knowledgeable in managing Cisco Meraki switches is a plus.

Highly Desired Skills:

• Demonstrating knowledge working with networking protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, IPSEC, TCP/IP, and MPLS)
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to VPN connectivity and performance

• Oversees activities & stays abreast of network technologies such as Cisco Firepower, Cisco Meraki Fiber & access switches (MS425-32, MS425-16, MS350-48FB, MS120-8FB),
• Cisco Routers (4500X Layer 3 Switch, 2901, 8200), FTD Firewalls (FTD on ASA5525-x, FTD on firepower 2130, firewall 3120 Threat Defense, firepower 1120 with FTD, firewall 3110 Threat Defense)
• ANS Cloud Firewalls, IPSecV2 & GRE Tunnel configurations, remote access (VPN) configuration, & management, Aruba wireless networking technologies (Aruba central)
• Aruba controller-based enterprise Wi-Fi platforms, including cloud-based & on-premises wireless controllers & cloud proxy & reverse-proxy technologies.
