Job Title: Windows Engineer
Hybrid – 3rd Wednesday of each month and as needed.
Location: Columbus, OH
Position Summary:
The Windows Server Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and administration of Windows Server environments (2016–2022). This role includes support for network administration, server operations, storage solutions, and information security, while ensuring optimal system performance and reliability. The position requires strong expertise in scripting and automation, as well as excellent communication and documentation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Windows Server Administration:
- Manage Windows updates, file sharing, Distributed File System (DFS), and system patching.
- Analyze and resolve issues using Qualys report data.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks and system administration activities.
- System Maintenance and Configuration:
- Install, upgrade, and configure hardware and software to support network administration, server management, business continuity, and information security.
- Administer Storage Area Networks (SAN) and ensure data availability and integrity.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide resolution across multiple technology domains.
- Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:
- Document systems, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge retention and continuity.
- Provide detailed documentation and deliver Knowledge Transfer (KT) sessions to internal teams.
- Customer Support and Collaboration:
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with other teams to identify and implement automated solutions for routine tasks.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Monitor system performance and perform advanced troubleshooting to optimize efficiency.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system stability and security.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Power BI and cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Strong ability to analyze system performance and implement proactive measures.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in Windows Server 2016–2022 administration.
- Expertise in PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Knowledge of file sharing, DFS, patching, and Qualys reporting.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills across various technology domains.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience in documenting systems, processes, and providing training to teams.
