Overview

Energy Environmental Group is seeking a mid-level GIS Analyst with 3-5 years of experience in transmission line infrastructure and environmental mapping. The successful candidate will support our transmission line construction and environmental staff by assisting with the creation and maintenance of GIS databases, ArcGIS online mapping and applications, and mapping of transmission line projects.


Responsibilities

  • Perform GIS data management and present quality mapping for transmission lines and associated infrastructure.
  • Manage environmental GIS data and map presentation quality for permitting, sensitive species, and biological field operations.
  • Work independently or with minimal supervision from senior GIS staff.
  • Provide input to the design of cartographic deliverables, geodatabases, tools and applications.
  • Reconcile database conflicts, layer corruption, inconsistencies with third-party data, coordinate system issues, etc., using appropriate action to implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, biological teams, and vendors to ensure the accurate use of GIS data and processes.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of progressive experience in a field that requires extensive use of GIS and related tools.
  • Strong proficiency in Esri’s ArcGIS software and extensions (e.g., ArcPro, Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst.
  • Accomplished cartographic and analytic skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with GIS staff and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Esri ArcGIS Online and applications including Dashboards, Survey 123 Connect, Field Maps Designer, and Quick Capture.
  • Some experience with scripting languages like Python, Arcade, SQL, etc. Experience with R is a plus.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certificate in Geographic Information Science.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to obtain your FAA part 107 UAS Certification.
  • Willingness to acquire future GIS knowledge or certifications (e.g., Geographic Information System Specialist (GISP), Esri desktop certification).
  • Experience in the electric utility infrastructure industry is a plus.
