ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include but not limited to:
- Maintain the highest standards of Animal Welfare:
- Kennel clean and sanitized in accordance with ECAD policies
- Animals are healthy and current on all vaccines required by CT (administering vaccinations as needed)
- Ensure animals are feed, watered, medicated, groomed, bathed and exercise in accordance with ECAD policies
- Participate in reproduction management and whelping of animals
- Arrange vet care as needed
- Collect blood, urine, and other samples required for laboratory analysis
- Perform routine laboratory tests
- Perform and read basic ultrasounds
- Medication Management: Document, Dispense and administer all medications
- Manage Canine Volunteer programs
- Assist in teaching training classes for staff and volunteers
- Execution of Administrative Responsibilities (daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly)
- Maintaining records with in Salesforce at all times. (Document any changes in health and behavior, Food intake, Grooming – coat, ears, toe nails, teeth, Vet Care, Medication both prescribed & preventative, Daily kennel duties, etc)
- Scheduling (coverage to assure there is appropriate staff to maintain the kennel in the standards that meets or exceed all of ADI accreditation requirements)
- Keeping inventory and schedule for Food pick-up, Equipment maintenance, Property maintenance, Cleaning supplies, Dog supplies ect
- Manage Kennel Staff
- Creating and executing schedules, sick call, and scheduled time off ensuring there is appropriate staff to maintain the kennel in the standards that meets or exceed all of ADI accreditation requirements
- Reviewing and approving timesheets
- Hiring, onboarding, training new staff as needed
- Oversee and communicate with concerns regarding animals, employees, and/or property
- Work Hand and Hand with Instructors
- Continue to gain education regarding kennel management, animal care, medical advancement and changes.
- Required: Ability to administer canine vaccinations
- Required: Ability to draw blood
- Required: Ability to perform and read ultrasounds
- Must be pass a criminal background check
- Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid Driver’s License and excellent driving record.
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

- Instructor should be able to work well with people, give clear and precise guidance to and staff and volunteers, and be willing to listen to and implement new ideas.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years’ experience in a manager position
- 2 years’ kennel experience
- Experience in teaching dog training classes a plus.
- Certification in Veterinary Technician, Phlebotomy, Animal Behaviorist
- Higher education in the fields of Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine and/or Dog Training a plus.

- For the safety of the employee, other employees, and the dogs, an employee must have hearing within normal limits (for an adult, hearing thresholds no greater than 25 dB HL from 500 Hz through 4000 Hz, for both ears, with or without hearing aids, implants or other devices. Employees much be able to hear a wide variety of sounds at different levels and pitches from a variety of directions and distances that dogs make while interacting with people and each other. This includes detect barking at all levels and tones and determining direction barking is coming from. Additional specific vision abilities required by the job include vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective eye wear.
