What are the responsibilities and job description for the Railroad Track Inspector position at ECC Corporation?
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Railroad Track Inspector to join our team for a crucial project involving track inspections related to passenger railroad operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in railroad track inspection and must possess the ability to perform remedial action and minor repairs.
Responsibilities:
· Conduct thorough 213 compliant inspections of railroad tracks and turnouts.
· Ensure compliance with FRA regulations and industry standards throughout the inspection process.
· Monitor and assess the condition of tracks, turnouts, and bridges to identify any defects or safety concerns.
· Collaborate with the project team, including project managers and construction crews, to ensure smooth and safe rail traffic operations.
· Document inspection findings accurately and promptly, providing detailed reports on the condition of the tracks and any necessary remedial actions.
· Perform inspections to support the safe passage of trains over the active rail corridor.
· Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and represent the company in matters related to track inspection and compliance.
Requirements:
· Previous experience as a Railroad Track Inspector with a proven track record of CWR inspections.
· In-Depth knowledge of railroad track construction, maintenance, and inspection practices.
· Familiarity with FRA regulations and industry standards.
· Ability to identify track defects and assess their impact on train operations and safety.
· Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills.
· Effective communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with different stakeholders.
· Flexibility to work in Missouri, Georgia, Michigan and Ohio and adapt to varying project schedules. Multiple inspectors will be used to cover these areas, a single inspector will not be responsible for all locations.
· A commitment to safety and a track record of adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
· Valid Driver’s license and ability to drive up to 2 hours of travel if needed.
Compensation and duration:
· The hourly rate will be based on the candidate’s level of experience and expertise in railroad track inspection.
· The duration is expected to be approximately 3 years with the potential of up to 6 years total with a tentative start in February of 2024.
· Inspection vehicle and appropriate tools will be provided.
