What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineer I – Field Engineer position at ECC?
ECC is seeking an Engineer I - Field Engineer for our project at MacDill AFB. We are looking for local candidates. This office and field position is primarily responsible for helping plan, select, coordinate and implement scientific and engineering services to fully address the scope of work on environmental remediation, hazardous waste management, and/or construction projects in accordance with Company standards, regulatory criteria, and contractual obligations.
- Under direct supervision, prepare various reports and plans
- Analyze project data to identify trends, problem areas, and risks
- Develop, review, and interpret drawings and specifications
- Report to project sites and conduct field review of ongoing work with ECC personnel, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to ensure compliance with approved plans, drawings, and specifications
- Maintain scope, budget, and schedule for assigned tasks
- Apply industry standards of practice for selected technology, adhering to regulatory codes, building codes, national/ local standards, and company policies and standard operating procedures
- Complete required documentation (field reports, daily logs, meeting minutes, project submittals, waste records, photograph collection, quality and safety reporting, inspections, etc.) in a timely and accurate manner
- Locate and interact with vendors for supplies and services
- Assist with RFPs, evaluation of proposals, and purchase order justification
- Ensure timely receipt and perform inspection of project materials and equipment
- Coordinate field activities with subcontractors, project personnel, and client
- Perform or validate calculations relating to production rates, quantity take offs, sizing requirements, or loading restrictions
- Red line and/or update as-built drawings
- Develop and participate in client and/or owner training for ECC-provided systems
- Assist with Government Property administration
- Perform cross-disciplinary safety/quality, project controls, procurement and contracts, and estimating duties as assigned
- In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position
Requirements
- Apply mathematical and engineering principles and analytical methods to a wide range of situations
- Identify practical solutions and solve moderately complex problems
- May oversee small subcontractor teams in completing project activities
- May participate in design teams or act as a resource for colleagues
- Implement Federal regulations, DoD guidelines, OSHA standards, USACE QC protocol, building codes/ standards, and FAR
- Communicate effectively by written and verbal means
- Determines work priorities with minimal input from management; effectively manages multiple tasks and deadlines
- Work well independently and as a team member
- Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, Windows Operating Systems, and other software products
- Prior experience as a field engineer or similar construction experience
- Must be able to work extended days and weekends, per projects needs
- Travel: Must be able and willing to work on-site at project location
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a Construction related field from an accredited institution. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Prior work experience on large construction site
- DoD project experience
- 2-5 years construction experience desired
ECC targeted salary range for the Tampa, FL area is $55,000 to $80,000 annually. Actual salary offered may be affected by education, training, certifications, experience, skills, level of responsibility, and location.
