What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Engineer position at ECC?
ECC is seeking candidates for a Project Engineer (Engineer II) for a large construction project consisting of the repair and replacement of multiple building damaged at Moody AFB. This posiiton is working extended hours and days and candidates must be able to work the additional hours, additional pay for hours worked will be provided. ECC provides a full benefits package to include company paid family medical/dental insurance. This office and field position is primarily responsible for helping plan, select, coordinate and implement scientific and engineering services to fully address the scope of work on environmental and/or construction projects in accordance with Company standards, regulatory criteria, and contractual obligations. In this position you will:
- Under direct supervision, prepare various reports and plans
- Analyze project data to identify trends, problem areas, and risks
- Develop, review, and interpret drawings and specifications
- Report to project sites and conduct field review of ongoing work with ECC personnel, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to ensure compliance with approved plans, drawings, and specifications
- Maintain scope, budget, and schedule for assigned tasks
- Apply industry standards of practice for selected technology, adhering to regulatory codes, building codes, national/ local standards, and company policies and standard operating procedures
- Complete required documentation (field reports, daily logs, meeting minutes, project submittals, waste records, photograph collection, quality and safety reporting, inspections, etc.) in a timely and accurate manner
- Locate and interact with vendors for supplies and services
- Assist with RFPs, evaluation of proposals, and purchase order justification
- Ensure timely receipt and perform inspection of project materials and equipment
- Coordinate field activities with subcontractors, project personnel, and client
- Perform or validate calculations relating to production rates, quantity take offs, sizing requirements, or loading restrictions
- Red line and/or update as-built drawings
- Develop and participate in client and/or owner training for ECC-provided systems
- Assist with Government Property administration
- Perform cross-disciplinary safety/quality, project controls, procurement and contracts, and estimating duties as assigned
- IManage and assist with on-site investigations in support of A/E design services
- Develop Scope of Work (SOW) packages for issuance of subcontracts
- Evaluate subcontract proposals and analyze scope gaps during buy-out phase
- Liaison with ECC clients, subcontractors, and suppliers on matters of technical and contractual importance
- In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position
Requirements
- Two years of construction or design experience as an Engineer I with ECC or equivalent responsibilities with another employer
- Apply mathematical and engineering principles and analytical methods to a wide range of situations
- Identify practical solutions and solve moderately complex problems
- May oversee small subcontractor teams in completing project activities
- May participate in design teams or act as a resource for colleagues
- Implement Federal regulations, DoD guidelines, OSHA standards, USACE QC protocol, building codes/ standards, and FAR
- Communicate effectively by written and verbal means
- Determines work priorities with minimal input from management; effectively manages multiple tasks and deadlines
- Work well independently and as a team member
- Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, Windows Operating Systems, and other software products
- Travel: Must be able and willing to work on-site at project location with periodic travel home with project management approval.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a Construction related field from an accredited institution. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Passed or is working towards the Engineer in Training (EIT) Examination from the National Council of Engineering Examiners (NCEE) in a state or commonwealth of the United States
- Relevant quality, safety, and construction training
- Moderate AutoCad capability
- Computer networking and troubleshooting skills
ECC targeted base salary range is $80,000 to $95,000 annually.
Actual salary offered may be affected by education, training, certifications, experience, skills, level of responsibility, and location.
