POSITION
The Territory Sales Representative (TSR) position plays a vital role in the continued growth of the company. It will be the TSRs objective to find and develop new customers, maintain, and grow current customers, understand the fleet demands and requirements of the customer base and grow overall performance of the assigned territory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Manage assigned territory with support from the region and central operations team.
- Communicate with existing customers and leads to identify and understands needs.
- Secure commitments (signed contracts) from existing customers and potential customers.
- Support operations team as requested and as needed.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management by resolving customer concerns, billing, or service issues professionally and quickly.
- Drive profitable growth by strengthening and expanding customer base through regular visits to current customers, cold calls, and networking to generate new leads.
- Develop and execute an annual territory sales plan, including coordinating strategies for account management, customer presentations, forecasting equipment needs and collections with operational team.
- Develop and become an expert in understanding the construction and rental market within the assigned territory.
- Develop and become an expert in our product knowledge and assisting customers in spec'ing the correct equipment and application.
- Maintain accurate reports and database records of customer contacts/activities and transactions.
- Maintain strong situational awareness regarding fleet assets in assigned territory.
- Daily documentation of all activities in company CRM system.

DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position operates at professional construction sites and in professional office environments, requiring the uses of standard office equipment, the ability to communicate verbally with others on site, in person and over the telephone, ability to read printed materials, signs, computer screens and directions, stamina to maintain attention to details despite interruptions, ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds and reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and/or ladders; balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, traverse around or otherwise position one's self around the required work and safety requirements to navigating and perform activities on various construction sites in a safe manner.
- Will be required to work on project sites and operate vehicles, trailers, machinery, equipment, and other tools within local, state, and federal safety guidelines.
- Will be required to work outside, frequently for extended periods of time in all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
- While working, the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other air-borne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris.
EXPECTED POSITION HOURS
- This is a full-time position. Occasional overtime may be required as job duties demand with prior approval.
- Position requires 60-70% travel, including occasional outside local area and overnight travel.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Work Experience
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Bachelor's Degree is preferred or comparable work experience.
- Three plus (3 ) years sales experience preferred.
- Knowledge of industrial/construction equipment, manufacturing/distribution markets a plus.
- Proficiency with web-based CRM - must maintain contacts, quotes, and sales calls daily.
- Effective at presenting to groups and one-on-one to any position level: executive, sales, vendors, etc.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent customer service and communication skills are a must.
- Computer skills with ability to use Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to understand financial reports.
- Must be an organized, detail oriented and able to work from the road.
- Highly motivated, self-starter with the discipline to develop and follow a sales strategy that results in closing.
- Strong interpersonal skills that include listening, identifying, and explaining new opportunities.
- Acts with integrity, demonstrate adaptability, and develops self through learning and feedback.
Certifications, Licenses, and other Requirements
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
