Job Description:
Ecco Ride, LLC is a family-owned school bus transportation company providing services over multiple states. We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Director of Training & Safety to oversee our comprehensive safety initiatives and training programs, ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-prepared workforce across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Training Programs:
- Oversee the delivery of onboarding, technical, and compliance-based training programs.
- Evaluate training needs across locations, working closely with HR and terminal managers to identify skill gaps and ensure proper training interventions.
- Utilize a variety of learning methodologies (e.g., e-learning, instructor-led, on-the-job training) to provide a well-rounded training experience for employees while following FMCSA standards.
- Continuously assess and update training materials to ensure they remain relevant, engaging, and aligned with industry standards.
Safety Management:
- Lead the development and execution of a company-wide safety program to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
- Develop and enforce safety policies, procedures, and best practices in accordance with OSHA and other relevant health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate and report on accidents and incidents, ensuring root causes are identified and preventive measures are implemented.
- Lead safety training initiatives, ensuring employees understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining safety standards.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure company compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain and manage records related to training certifications, safety audits, incident reports, and compliance documents.
- Stay updated on changes in safety regulations and ensure the company remains compliant with all new requirements.
- Partner with risk management and legal teams to assess potential risks and ensure the company’s liability is minimized through proactive safety measures.
Leadership & Team Management:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety practices into daily operations and foster a safety-first mindset across the organization.
- Establish safety performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and drive improvements.
- Deliver regular reports to senior leadership on safety performance, training effectiveness, and compliance status.
Continuous Improvement:
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in training and safety protocols, making recommendations for enhancements and implementing new solutions as needed.
- Lead the investigation of accidents or near-miss incidents and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Foster a learning culture within the organization that encourages employees to report safety concerns and participate in safety initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Human Resources, or a related field
- Minimum of 5years of experience in safety and training management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant local, state, and federal safety requirements.
- Experience in developing and managing corporate training programs, including technical and compliance-based content.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
- Ability to analyze data and metrics to evaluate program effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
