Data Center Technician

Job Title: Data Center Technician (Contract 3 Months)
Location: Kansas City, KS facility
Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Dress Code: Business Casual (Khakis, Polo Shirt, Closed-Toe Work Shoes or Boots Steel Toe Not Required)
Contract Length: 3 Months

Overview:
We are seeking a professional and reliable Data Center Technician to join a high-visibility project supporting the IT operations at a manufacturing facility in Kansas City. This is a hands-on, on-site contract role focused on supporting the site IT leader by assisting with physical infrastructure tasks inside the computer room.

This engagement requires a technician with strong communication skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to represent our team well in a fast-paced and structured enterprise environment. All necessary PPE will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with cabling and setup of RHOS servers
• Install RJ-45 and fiber patch cables according to specification
• Remove existing copper cabling in the computer room
• Provide hands-on support to facilitate IT infrastructure readiness for upcoming plant launch activities
• Work closely with and take direction from the on-site IT leader
• Follow all site safety and operational protocols while on premises

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a data center or IT infrastructure environment
• Hands-on experience installing and terminating RJ-45 and fiber patch cables
• Ability to identify and remove legacy cabling as directed
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Professional appearance, communication, and conduct
• Must be punctual, reliable, and able to work independently under supervision
• No system-level access is required; tasks are strictly hardware-related and physical infrastructure support

Additional Notes:

• This role is onsite only; remote work is not available
• This technician will be supporting physical project work and will not be granted access to facility systems
• The ideal candidate will be able to quickly integrate with the team, demonstrate initiative, and maintain a strong customer service approach when interacting with internal staff
