Position Title: Senior Strategist (Commerce)
Location Information: NYC or Atlanta (Hybrid)
Duration: 12 month contract to hire

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Strategist to join our team and lead strategic initiatives for our client. This is a pivotal role responsible for developing and executing commerce strategies that drive brand awareness, engagement, and ultimately, sales across various channels. You will be a strategic voice for client within the agency, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class commerce solutions. You’ll lead data analysis and strategic insights and direction to aid in the development of communications initiatives for clients. Working closely with the Account Management, Creative, Strategy, and Media teams, this position provides both and internal and client facing perspective, with multiple briefs at any given time.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and articulate comprehensive commerce strategies aligned with client's overall marketing objectives and business goals.
- Lead the development of insight-driven strategic frameworks.
- Build recommendations, and actionable roadmaps for various commerce initiatives.
- Identify and analyze data, market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and platforms within the commerce space and identify opportunities for innovation
Client Management:
- Serve as a primary strategic contact for client, building strong relationships and fostering trust.
- Present strategic recommendations and insights to clients in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
- Proactively identify client needs and opportunities for growth.
- Manage client expectations and ensure strategic alignment across all projects.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with creative, media, technology, and account management teams to ensure seamless execution of strategic plans.
- Provide strategic guidance and support to internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate internal workshops and brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas and solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior strategists, fostering their growth and development.
Performance Measurement & Optimization:
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop measurement frameworks to track the success of commerce initiatives.
- Analyze performance data and provide actionable insights to optimize campaigns and improve results.
- Prepare and present performance reports to clients, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in advertising, communications or analytic field preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in research, strategic planning, or related field, preferably at an agency, CPG company, research company, or consulting firm
- Strong analytical skills and experience designing analytical solutions to address business problems
- Applied experience with database tools and systems such as MRI Simmons, Mintel, Infegy, YPulse
- Experience with sales (i.e. IRI/Nielsen/Retail Link), and shopper panel (IRI/Nielsen Panel, Numerator) data a plus
- Strong knowledge of North America retail environments and touchpoints (Global a plus)
- Able to communicate clearly, thoroughly, succinctly and in a timely manner both verbally and in writing; follows up on outstanding issues; asks relevant questions
- Critical thinking; drawing conclusions, find creative solutions, structured problem-solving approach
- Proven ability to communicate complex, technical concepts to non-quantitative audience
- Ability to build relationships across team, departments, vendors and clients
- Exceptional oral and written communications skills
- Ability to effectively manage timelines and deliverables of multiple projects simultaneously
