Assistant Manager, Distribution Planning

The Assistant Manager, Distribution Planning will ensure a balanced flow of work is being processed through the Avon DC to meet operational targets and meet customer/consumer order dates.


As our Assistant Manager, Distribution Planning, your responsibilities will include:


  • Manage the prioritization of the Distribution workflow taking into consideration customer routing guides and shipping windows.
  • Monitor the DC waves and ensure customer orders are finished, routed and shipped within ship windows. Check vendor websites for successful routing confirmation.
  • Follow-up on communication and data transfers following order shipments.
  • Work with the Customer Experience team and DTC MP&A to plan the monthly, weekly and daily flow for processing.
  • Work with the 3PL distribution team to plan the daily workload and processing needs for the Avon warehouse.
  • Communicate daily processing flow to Ryder and ECCO partners and facilitate the handover of work to the DC Operations team.
  • Monitor customer guidelines to ensure labels and packing are completed to customer specific requirements.
  • Assist with the on-boarding process of new customers.
  • Conduct periodic research on traffic and routing guides to ensure customer guidelines are met.
  • Maintain communication with 3PL management on any issues with deliveries.
  • Review and take action on DC-related vendor violations.
  • Work with the DC Operations team to plan and conduct effective physical inventories as required.
  • Monitor and correct any deliveries nearing cancel ship dates
  • Act as the subject matter expert for all SAP and WMS warehouse processes.
  • Work with the 3PL Inventory team to complete order cuts and delivery adjustments as required to keep the processing moving and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Follow company safety standards, ensure awareness of surroundings and exercise good judgment at all times.
  • Ensure proper use, storage and general upkeep of any company equipment used in executing responsibilities.
  • Effectively manage and develop subordinate staff, providing for coaching and professional development opportunities as appropriate.
  • Other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

If you have…


  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Associate’s degree in Logistics, Business or related field preferred.
  • 5 years of direct warehouse experience.
  • 3 years of supervisory or similar leadership experience.
  • Working knowledge of computers; proficiency in MS Word/Excel, SAP and WMS.
  • Ability to effectively plan and multi-task, shifting priorities as needed.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to exchange information with others clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English at a proficient level.
  • Potential for limited travel as needed, domestic and/or international.

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. to a height of approximately 4 ft on an occasional basis.

  • Continuous walking/standing/sitting on an occasional basis.

  • Continuous bending/lifting on an occasional basis.
