Job Summary :
The Staff Accountant is responsible for recording and managing financial transactions, maintaining the general ledger, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, generating reports, ensuring the accuracy of a company’s financial records by following established accounting principles and procedures. This role will report to the Corporate Controller.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Monitor slow moving inventory and work closely with branches to help facilitate a sale or transfer
- Support month-end close process that includes journal entries, inventory analysis, account reconciliations
- Create monthly financial reports for the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cashflows
- Improve financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances to budgets and forecasts, and identifying trends in data
- Assist and identify areas of improvement to overall AP process
- Maintain and reconcile database for sales tax using Avalara
- Increases productivity by developing automated accounting applications, coordinating information requirements
- Other ad-hoc financial reports as required
