Job Title: Clinician III, Adult Ambulatory Behavioral Health
About the Role:
The Clinician III in Adult Ambulatory Behavioral Health provides essential clinical services to adults requiring mental health care, ensuring a supportive and compassionate environment. This role emphasizes teamwork, communication, and respect, vital for enhancing employee engagement and patient care in a community hospital setting.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, offer individual and group therapy, and collaborate with community resources while adhering to treatment protocols.
- Provide direct and indirect clinical services to adults in need of mental health care and be responsible for treatment of the client and provision of age-appropriate care.
- Crisis assessment, intake assessment, individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, treatment planning, case management, team/community collaboration, patient/family education, and triage/discharge planning.
- May provide flexible coverage to another service within Behavioral Health on a short-term basis.
Requirements:
- Masters degree and Connecticut licensure as a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
- Familiarity with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and knowledge of community-based resources and experience with pre-authorization and billing processes is preferred.
- Computer competency with basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook, strong clinical skills including a demonstrated team orientation, and strong written as well as verbal communication skills using the English language.

Working Conditions:
- This position reports to the Adult Ambulatory Coordinator and/or to the Director of the Service and the Medical Director.
- Incumbents in specific assignments must possess and maintain a valid drivers# license with public passenger endorsement, maintain a driving record free of any violations and pass a safe driving educational program upon hire and annually thereafter in order to participate in the Fleet Vehicle Program as outlined in the Eastern Connecticut Health Network#s Environment of Care Safety Policies and Procedures #110.
