The Crisis Worker in Emergency Services provides direct and indirect clinical care to patients requiring behavioral health interventions.
They are responsible for conducting crisis assessments, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with community resources to ensure comprehensive care.
The role necessitates strong clinical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic emergency department environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide age-appropriate assessment and treatment to a diverse population with multiple needs.
- Conduct crisis triage and assessment, individual and family intervention, case management, community collaboration, patient/family education, insurance verification, and treatment planning.
- Collaborate with community resources to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree and licensure in a Behavioral Health field (LCSW, APRN, or PhD).
- Certification in CPI de-escalation techniques within 6 months of hire and maintain active certification.
- Strong clinical skills, including crisis triage and assessment, individual and family intervention, case management, community collaboration, patient/family education, insurance verification, and treatment planning.
- Effective communication and ability to work independently in a dynamic emergency department environment.
Competencies:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer competency with basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook.
- Knowledge of psychiatric and risk assessment.
- Ability to function effectively and independently in a work environment where multitasking is necessary.
