Job Description:
An Interventional Radiology Technologist provides patient care utilizing invasive cardiovascular technology to diagnose and treat vascular diseases. They perform a variety of complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, maintain a strong knowledge of anatomy and equipment, and ensure adherence to infection control and patient care protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures
- Assist in the performance of procedures requiring independent judgment and high technical knowledge of equipment
- Maintain a constant awareness of infection control standards and patient care protocols
- Document patient and diagnostic procedure information accurately
- Participate in training of newly hired staff and complete continuing education requirements
- Collaborate with team members to provide quality patient care and meet quality assurance measures
Requirements:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) National Board certification
- Vascular-Interventional (VI) Radiography Certification by the ARRT preferred
- Valid State of Connecticut License to practice Radiographic technical procedures
- BLS Certified
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members
Working Conditions:
This role requires travel between multiple work sites and working with diverse age groups.
