Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist at ECHN
Summary:
An Interventional Radiology Technologist provides patient services using invasive cardiovascular technology under physician direction, ensuring the accurate diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases. This role requires performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures with a high level of technical knowledge, maintaining strict adherence to infection control protocols, and demonstrating strong communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures at a level that does not require constant supervision of technical detail.
- Assist in the performance of a variety of procedures requiring independent judgment, good knowledge of anatomy, and high technical knowledge of equipment.
Requirements:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) National Board certified.
- Vascular-Interventional (VI) Radiography Certification by the ARRT preferred.
- Maintain a valid State of Connecticut License to practice Radiographic technical procedures.
- On an on-going basis, obtain the mandatory number of continued educational units (CEU#s) needed to maintain the currency of state licensure.
Competencies:
- Advanced math skills in physics to understand and set the level of radiation exposure to the patient and themselves for the process.
- Familiarity with the principles of physics, anatomy, medical terminology, sterile technique, and radiation protection as it relates to Radiology practice.
Work Environment:
- The employee must have access to reliable transportation to travel between multiple work sites.
