Job Summary
A Licensed Practical Nurse in a medical office setting provides essential nursing care and support to patients while assisting healthcare providers in coordinating patient care. This role requires both clinical and administrative skills alongside strong communication and customer service abilities.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide general nursing care to patients, including administering prescribed medications, vaccinations, and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
- Prepare equipment and aids physicians during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
- Observe, report, and record patients' conditions and reactions to medications and treatments.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
- Current licensure in the state of Connecticut.
- Maintains clinical competency required for area of assignment, including Basic Cardiac Life Support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with computer scheduling systems, i.e., Meditech and Ntierprise.
- 1 year experience working in a medical facility.
