Position Summary
The Medical Office LPN provides direct and indirect professional nursing care for patients following established standards and practices. They assist providers and staff in the coordination of patient care, handling both administrative and clinical duties.
Responsibilities
- Administers prescribed medications, vaccinations, and treatments according to nursing standards.
- Prepares equipment and aids physicians during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
- Educates patients and families regarding diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and health maintenance.
- Documents all medication dispensed in the medical record and keeps inventory of medical supplies.
- Reports malfunctioning medical equipment and assists with office surgical procedures.
- Prepares specimens and paperwork for testing as directed by a physician or midlevel.
- Responds to incoming patient treatment-related phone calls and participates in Patient Centered Medical Home Care Team collaborations.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
- 1 year of experience working in a medical facility.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in software such as Meditech and Ntierprise.
- Able to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written) and demonstrate professional etiquette and superior customer service skills.
