Position Summary : Join our dedicated team as a Nursing Team Leader, where you will play a pivotal role in promoting and maintaining exceptional patient care through effective management and coordination of nursing activities during your assigned shift. You will allocate resources efficiently to ensure compassionate care and provide both clinical and administrative leadership.
Key Responsibilities :
- Visit all patient care units to assess patient conditions, evaluate staffing needs, and support caregivers.
- Administer effective distribution and utilization of personnel during your shift.
- Evaluate the quality and appropriateness of patient care, participating in quality improvement projects.
- Keep the Nurse Executive or designee informed of circumstances affecting patient care.
- Assess patient placement and care needs, allocating resources accordingly.
- Participate in nursing and organizational policy formulation through councils and committees.
- Follow Pharmacy protocols when the Pharmacist is unavailable.
- Assume responsibilities outlined in the Emergency Preparedness Manual.
- Demonstrate flexibility and function well under stress, utilizing critical thinking in priority setting.
- Engage in personal and professional growth and serve as a role model and mentor.
- Respond to emergent situations, coordinating and evaluating staff responses.
- Promote patient satisfaction through high-quality care, regular patient rounds, and effective resolution of complaints.
- Provide input for staff performance evaluations and monitor action plans.
- Ensure adherence to established hospital procedures while addressing unique patient care issues.
Education / Certification : Bachelor’s Degree or currently enrolled in such a program. Current Registered Nurse license from the state is required. Certification is a plus. Clinical and managerial competency is necessary for the designated area, including Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
Experience : A minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience in an acute care setting with demonstrated leadership potential.
Competencies : Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Basic computer skills in WORD, EXCEL, and OUTLOOK are essential.
