Requirements:
We're seeking a highly skilled physical therapist with a Bachelor of Science Degree from an APTA-approved program and at least one year of acute care experience. Additional experience in home health care is preferred.
A current license to practice as a physical therapist in the State of Connecticut is also required.
Physical Demands:
This role requires full range of body motion, heavy work, balance skills, and the ability to ascend/descend stairs. You'll need to be able to perform floor-to-stand transfers, kneel, and sit for extended periods, as well as lift, transfer, and perform gait training on all surfaces with patients.
The ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds is also essential, along with corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Working under stressful conditions and with limited exposure to communicable diseases are also requirements of this role.
Work Conditions:
As a physical therapist with our agency, you'll work in patients' homes and in an office environment. This role requires adequate transportation, proof of satisfactory automobile insurance, and possession of an individual malpractice insurance policy.
Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:
- Knowledge of current APTA guidelines and standards, as well as Agency policy, regulations, and procedures to administer patient care.
- Knowledge of current modalities and medical equipment relevant to patient care.
- Skill in identifying patient problems and recommending solutions, as well as documentation in clinical records.
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients/families, physicians, co-workers, and the community, with clear communication skills.
