RN (PACU) Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), I provide high-quality, patient-centered care while coordinating with an interdisciplinary team. The role requires effective communication, critical thinking, and a commitment to professional development.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor patients post-surgery, managing pain and ensuring safety during recovery
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team and families regarding patient care
- Develop and revise individualized plans of care as indicated by assessment and patient response to treatment
- Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and promotes positive patient outcomes
- Document the nursing process and responses to care in a timely manner utilizing the appropriate tools
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with current Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut
- Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- Ability to communicate effectively using the English language, both verbally and in writing
