Job Title: Speech Pathologist
We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Pathologist to join our team at ECHN. As a member of our community hospital, you will play a vital role in providing evaluations and treatments to patients to improve or restore their speech and language functions.
About the Role:
- Evaluate patients based on departmental standards and conduct modified evaluations as needed.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and administer physical agents and manual therapeutic techniques to attain established goals.
- Utilize effective techniques to assist in normalizing speech and language activity and educate patients/families in home exercise programs and/or functional activities.
- Determine when a patient has achieved maximal benefit from treatment and recommend discharge if appropriate.
- Document patient care in accordance with insurance guidelines and adhere to departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements:
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current Connecticut license for Speech Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Basic personal computer skills in Windows-based programs
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients based on departmental standard.
- Conducts and modifies evaluations based on the patient's symptoms, level of activity, and medical status establishing individualized, appropriate, measurable goals for each patient.
- Treats patients with the appropriate and acceptable therapeutic techniques.
- Administers physical agents (modalities) and manual therapeutic technique to attain established goals.
- Utilizes effective techniques to assist in normalizing speech and language activity.
- Educates patients/families in home exercise programs and/or functional activities in order to maximize independent functional activity.
- Determines when a patient has achieved maximal benefit from treatment and recommends discharge if appropriate.
- Documents in accordance to insurance guidelines and adheres to the department's policies and procedures.
Working Conditions:
- May be required to travel between multiple work sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Experience working in a healthcare setting
