About Camp ECHO: Camp ECHO is a dynamic summer day camp dedicated to curious explorers aged 6-12 hosted at Upper Blue Elementary in Breckenridge, CO. Each week, campers embark on themed adventures, engaging in activities like hiking, swimming, archery, arts and crafts, science experiments, and team challenges. Our mission is to nurture curiosity, foster teamwork, and create lasting friendships within a positive and supportive environment.
Position Overview: Adventure Guides are energetic and dedicated individuals responsible for leading campers through daily expeditions and activities. They ensure a safe, engaging, and educational experience, guiding campers in exploring Colorado's natural beauty and participating in various themed programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Supervise Activities: Oversee groups of campers in daily activities, including hiking, swimming, archery, arts and crafts, science experiments, and team-building exercises.
- Facilitate Field Trips: Organize and lead weekly field trips to various Colorado attractions, ensuring educational and enjoyable experiences. Destinations include: Meow Wolf, Denver Museum of Nature & Science, Lava Island, Water Parks, Denver Zoo
- Implement Themed Programs: Adapt camp curricula to align with weekly themes, fostering an environment of learning and exploration.
- Ensure Safety and Well-being: Adhere to camp policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment for all campers.
- Promote Positive Social Interactions: Encourage teamwork, personal growth, and respect among campers.
- Communicate Effectively: Maintain open communication with camp staff, campers, and parents, providing updates and addressing any concerns.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience working with children in educational or recreational settings (450 Hours of Verifiable Experience).
- Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Passion: Enthusiasm for outdoor activities and inspiring youth.
- Adaptability: Ability to adjust to changing environments and handle various weather conditions.
- Certifications: Must have CPR/First Aid certification. (State licensing and required certifications are necessary and must be completed prior to camp start.)
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Studies in education, recreation, environmental science, or related fields.
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with Colorado's natural landscapes and local attractions.
- Facilitation Experience: Experience in leading group activities and team-building exercises.
Employment Details:
- Duration: Camp sessions run weekly from June 9 to August 22, 2025, plus one week of training June 2-6.
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, up to 40 hours per week.
- Training: Required state licensing and certifications before the start of camp.
