Founded in 2024 by high school students Iris Cao and Catherine Hu, ECHO aims to spread the love of music through free online tutoring sessions. Role Description
ECHO Music tutors pave ways for all students interested in music to improve their music education and performance skills in instruments such as piano, wind instruments, string instruments, voice, and music theory.
Music tutors will teach weekly online lessons and receive volunteer hours based on performance. ECHO will provide free education materials, music, and student arrangements. All lessons will have 0.5 hours built in to account for preparation. ECHO provides tutors with primary access to opportunities in performance, competitions, leading new projects, and external leadership offers.
You will use and develop skills in mentorship, communication, music education and performance, professional time management, as well as building effective leadership skills. Tutors will be expected to have music proficiency in their respective instrument, effective leadership capabilities, and a passion for education.
Qualifications
- Music Performance and Music Theory skills
- Passion for teaching and mentoring
- Experience in instruction or tutoring
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work remotely and independently
- Experience working with diverse student populations is a plus
- Music-related certifications or degrees are beneficial
