What Your Responsibilities Will Look Like
- Provides the link between the technical and business views of the system by ensuring that the technical solutions being developed will satisfy the needs of the business.
- Ensures high-level designs, including architecture requirements, are accurately documented and mapped to approved requirements.
- Partner with sponsors, stakeholders, and IT to facilitate, define and document relevant business processes, gaining an understanding of the needs, measures, and risks & controls for the improvement area.
- Lead, collaborate with, and motivate a cross-functional team of business analysts, developers, testers and others to develop, execute and release in alignment with program and/or product roadmaps.
- Manage, prioritize, and assess the impact of all work items, such as new features, defects, etc., including providing the decision to create, fix or defer at the project level.
- Review, and when appropriate, accept and prioritize feedback and new requirements from stakeholders.
- Review and accept or decline output of development to ensure specified acceptance criteria have been completed.
- Ensure development and QA teams understand requirements prior to development. Answer questions and support team throughout development and testing
- Manages integrated functionality, usability, reliability, performance and support requirements of a system.
- Assist with project level plans related to schedule, scope and resources.
- Assists in developing training documentation and proactive identification of additional documentation needs.
- Facilitate daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective meetings.
- Act as a project manager when necessary. Take responsibility for managing dependencies.
- Analyzing a broadly-defined area and using functional decomposition to define high-level epics and stories to create a well-organized, value-driven framework to provide the required business value in the Product Backlog.
- Writing individual stories that are very clear and concise and are easy to understand and implement by the development team.
- Identifying related user stories and epics, grouping them into themes as necessary and documenting the interrelationship and associated business process flows as necessary.
- Must be able to collaboratively work within multiple evolving development methodologies including iterative Agile and sequential Waterfall projects.
- Eliciting and documenting requirements from business owners/subject matter experts for new and existing products and/or applications
- Facilitating meetings and design discussions with on and offshore development teams
- Tracking and reporting of project metrics/timeliness
- Managing several different products/applications/work streams
- 3 years’ healthcare experience with providers and/or payers for claims and payment processing or other payment processing experience.
- 5 years of experience in a Business Analyst or related role
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Working knowledge and experience with SQL databases required. Experience with Crystal Reports preferred.
- Excellent work ethic, leadership skills, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Strong analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, results-oriented environment.
- Ability to work independently in solving business problems.
- Demonstrates a high level organizational skill with the ability to prioritize and manage change.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
