Echo Technologies is a rapidly growing provider of network infrastructure solutions, specializing in copper, fiber, and wireless network installations and maintenance. We are seeking an experienced Network Technician to join our team in Lakeland, FL.
This role requires a strong understanding of network installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance for wired and wireless systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting enterprise, commercial, and industrial networking environments.
Position Overview
As a Network Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of copper, fiber, and wireless network infrastructure. This role requires a working knowledge of network design principles, structured cabling, and wireless technologies. In addition to regular weekday hours, you must be available for after-hours and weekend support to respond to critical outages.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test copper (Cat5e, Cat6), fiber optic, and wireless network systems.
- Configure and maintain network hardware, including switches, routers, access points, and wireless controllers.
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics for network issues, including connectivity, latency, and hardware failures.
- Deploy and support Wi-Fi networks and Fixed Wireless (PTP and PTMP), including radio placement, alignment, signal testing, and troubleshooting.
- Interpret network diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to ensure proper system installation.
- Provide network support for outages, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
- Conduct routine network maintenance and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Document all network installations, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
- Work independently and collaboratively with other technicians, engineers, and clients to ensure efficient network performance.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required:
- 2 years of experience in network installation, maintenance, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of basic network design, IP addressing, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with structured cabling, including copper (Cat5e, Cat6) and fiber optic installations.
- Hands-on experience with wireless network installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of networking hardware (switches, routers, access points).
- Ability to diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues.
- Familiarity with basic network security principles.
- Ability to climb ladders and work from heights
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Availability to respond to after-hours and weekend outages as needed.
Preferred:
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network , CCNA, or similar.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting software.
- Knowledge of fiber splicing and testing equipment (OTDR, fusion splicer, etc.).
- Experience working with enterprise-level networks and structured cabling systems.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Work Hours: Monday – Friday (standard hours) with on-call availability for after-hours and weekend outages.
- Work Location: On-site at various client locations in and around Lakeland, FL.
