This position will be responsible to monitor and resolve any transportation performance issues, plan on-time transportation, meet transportation budget expectations, plan, and maintain transportation to minimize cost and achieve EHVI service targets.
The position also includes overall maintenance, safety and security of facility vehicles, accountability of receipts for the purpose of tracking usage and performance of the vehicles, facilitating the development of all current and potential routes to meet the facilities requirements, travel timeliness, efficiencies, quality, and ease of meeting facilities? needs.
This position will work cooperatively with the Program Directors of EU and EC to provide efficient and effective transportation for the individuals and the maintenance department for the overall repair and maintenance of each vehicle.
A cooperative team approach is important to ensure individual needs are met. Work performed will be under the direction or guidance of the Transportation Supervisor and will report to Transportation Supervisor. This position will require self-direction, discipline, and organizational skills to accomplish the essential functions of the job.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- A valid commercial driver?s license (CDL) is preferred, but not required.
- A High School Diploma is required.
- A minimum of 1 year experience is required.
- Ability to drive all vehicles assigned, including vans and coaches.
- An insurable driving record according to the Echoing Hills? insurance carriers required.
- CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire is required.
- Prior experience transporting individuals or groups is required.
- Prior experience driving a variety of vehicle types properly and safely is preferred.?
- Prior experience assisting individuals with IDD is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems and maintenance guidelines, driving regulations, defensive driving techniques, and 4-point tie-down system.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Ability to work with individuals with IDD of varying functionality in a professional and Christian manner.
- Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, safety, bloodborne pathogens, infection control, individual care, and patient rights guidelines.
WORK CONDITIONS :
Work will occur in a variety of locations. Time will be spent inside vehicles as well outdoors
during vehicle maintenance and inspections. Offsite locations will include local and out of town
locations. Hours may include early morning, day, evening, weekend, and holiday hours, and / or
split shifts as assigned, depending upon the needs of the individuals and activities. Mandatory
overtime may be necessary on occasion.
