Echostar has an exciting opportunity for an Electrician in our Hughes Network Systems Division. This position will be located at our office in Germantown, Maryland.

Responsibilities :

Troubleshoot and test electrical systems including defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using test instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, and voltmeter.
Complete daily maintenance checks and work assignments, general duties include installation of motors, transformer, lighting fixtures, cable tray and complete circuits according to diagram specifications and Blueprints.
Complete work as required in a craftsmen like manner in conformance with requirements of local building and NEC codes as well as company specifications
Additional duties may include general building maintenance.
Typical Shift work Monday - Friday and may require some nights, weekends, and Holidays.
Required on call rotation support.

Basic Requirements :

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Current Journeyman electrical license.

2 years Commercial and / or industrial experience

Preferred Qualifications :

Excellent conduit bending skills.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence using computer

Ability work independently and apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

Essential Job Duties :

Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Must be able to sit, stand, crawl, and climb ladders for extended periods.

Must be able to work in all-weather environments, extreme heat, extreme cold, snow, rain noise, hazards and atmospheric conditions (fumes, odor, dust, mist or poor ventilations) indoors, and outdoors

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.

Annual Salary : $49,000.00 - $70,000.00
