As a trusted behavioral health organization committed to providing care in the community since 1955, we offer an array of comprehensive services for youth, adolescents, and adults. Our psychiatrists and psychiatric nurses provide client-centered psychiatric services for individuals (age 5 ) .
Primary Responsibilities
- Administer injections to clients as prescribed by Ecker Center prescriber.
- Administer TB tests to Ecker Center employees.
- Complete patient vitals.
- Provide nursing sessions with clients in the Crisis Residential program. These duties include reviewing medications, recent labs, and completing an initial medical screening.
- Monitor client’s medication through Illinois Prescription Monitoring system and Clozapine REMS systems.
- Assist providers in requesting and reviewing all orders. Ensure critical lab results are reported to providers immediately.
- Responds to client inquiries and call backs in-between prescriber appointments.
- Complete prior authorizations when necessary to assist clients with medication approval.
- Assist clients with the completion of medication reconciliation and medical forms when necessary.
Performance Requirements
- Establish rapport and maintain supportive contact with clients.
- Follow the seven rights of safe medication administration.
- Complete vital signs assessment on clients prior to each psychiatry appointment. Vital sign assessment will include height, weight, BMI calculation, blood pressure and heart rate.
- Perform clinical withdrawal scale and urine drug screens on all clients participating in MAR program and at the prescriber’s request.
- Provide nursing input and advocate for clients as a member of the client’s care team.
- Recognizes the role of members of the health care team in the delivery of care.
- Involves the individual served as an active participant in the process of care, including relevant health care education.
- Provide nursing support for non-medical staff including but not limited to reviewing provider orders and MORs.
Education and Experience
- Current LPN license required
- One year experience in psychiatric and substance needs preferred
- IM, Sub-Q and TB injection experience required
- Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license, auto insurance, automobile.
Schedule
- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 9am – 3:30pm (18 hours a week).
