Our Crisis Residential Program offers a short-term, non-hospital setting for individuals in crisis, providing stabilization and recovery-focused interventions.
Job Scope: Lead a diverse team of clinicians providing mental health and crisis de-escalation services in a collaborative and fast paced community setting. Engage clients in crisis intervention, rehabilitative groups, and Integrated Assessment and Treatment Planning (IATP), aimed at increasing clients’ ability to function independently in the community.
Primary Responsibilities
- Leads and oversees the daily operations of the Crisis Residential Program
- Provides daily leadership/clinical consultation and supervision/evaluation to Masters, Bachelor, other clinicians, and interns to ensure operations run smoothly and that program development is responsive to individual and community needs.
- Ensuring the Crisis Residential Program census is at full capacity.
- Provides a full range of clinical crisis services including IATP, crisis intervention, case management, consultation, rehabilitative groups, discharge planning and referral/linkage services
- Assist with management of the waitlist including coordination with clients and community organizations, scheduling, and documentation related tasks.
- Provides clinical supervision on an individual and group basis to ensure the development of employees.
- Ensures documentation and reporting requirements for programs are being met
- Evaluates individuals for appropriate services and make all necessary referrals, both inside and outside the agency. Manages referrals and relationships with referral sources.
- Completes admissions to and discharges from Crisis Residential and all other pertinent documentation related to admission & discharge of clients
- Serves as QMHP for MHP and CRSS level staff providing supervision for the Crisis Residential team
- Provides clinical consult and coverage support to teams as needed
- Provides accurate, quality documentation within a maximum of 48 hours after service delivery
Performance Requirements
- Active in program development and design of activities.
- Supervising and evaluating clinical staff and programs.
- Providing full range of clinical services including assessment, counseling, and rehabilitative services.
- Developing an individual treatment plan that addresses clinical needs and reflects client concerns and input.
- Establishing rapport and maintaining supportive contact with clients.
- Assessing and counseling clients in psychiatric crises and activating emergency procedures as appropriate.
- Knowledge of human development across the life cycle as applicable to the clinical population served.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in Human Service field
- Illinois Clinical License (LSW, LCSW, LPC, or LCPC) preferred
- Five years clinical experience and 3 years supervisory experience
- Experience serving adults with severe mental illness in community mental health or in crisis
- Experience with case management, crisis assessment and intervention, diagnosis/treatment of mental health and co-occurring substance use needs, in adults
- Must have ability to work independently and in a team setting, ability to assess risks in a stressful environment
- Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license, auto insurance, automobile, and a willingness to transport clients as necessary
- Ability to provide CPR
Schedule
- Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm (40 hours a week).
- Must be willing work a flexible schedule in response to the needs of the target population served, including evening and weekend hours as needed for coverage and supervisory activities.
