Eckerd College is currently hiring for the position of Banner Functional Developer to join our Enterprise Applications team at our waterfront property along the Boca Ciega Bay in St. Petersburg, Florida, in our relationship-focused community. This position will serve as one of the key contacts for the business in select topic areas and for issue resolution on a day-to-day basis. You will have a key focus on helping to support and leverage Eckerd’s systems including the Banner ERP, Enterprise Reporting, Document Management, Learning Management, Ethos Integration, and more.
As a Banner Functional Developer, you will work under limited supervision and are responsible for having a significant impact on operational results within their area of specialization. This position will contribute to the development of overall business solutions designs including reengineering, implementing, enhancing, and testing of solutions.
You are responsible for continuously developing and maintaining a deep and broad understanding of assigned areas to support business applications. You will troubleshoot issues and gather requirements for often complex enhancements. This position will manage and lead work on projects with the responsibility for the entire project life cycle.
As a contributor on large projects, will be responsible for completion of deliverables in a timely and accurate manner. You are responsible for proactively working to solve and elevating issues that affect the completion of projects and propose recommendations on how to resolve these issues.
The Banner Functional Developer will be responsible for developing strong relationships with business partners and influence them on policies, practices, procedures. You are responsible for moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems or products to enhance performance of assigned areas.
This position may be eligible to work in a remote or hybrid environment.

Key Responsibilities
Consult with functional and technical staff members on improvements for the use of existing enterprise applications
Provide Banner ERP functional and technical support in all modules to faculty/staff members across campus with focus attention on the finance, HR, position control, and payroll modules
Create functional and technical documentation for end users particularly in the finance, HR, position control, payroll modules
Learn, understand, and enhance the banner functional processes to support end users.
Learn and understand the banner database data location with focus on payroll, HR, position control, and finance modules.
Prioritize and appropriately escalate issues to assure timely problem resolution.
Suggest, test, implement, and evaluate solutions.
Write complex SQL queries to produce reports for multiple stakeholders.
Write complex SQL queries to produce exception reporting for end users.
Clearly document system designs and system processes for functional and technical processes.
Assist with applications support tickets and adhere to SLAs to provide quality customer service
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
2-3 years of experience with the Banner ERP from both a functional and technical perspective with a focus in Finance, HR, Position Control, and Payroll modules
Proven track record of an ability to initiate, track, and successfully manage multiple detail-oriented projects simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote/hybrid environment.
Ability to perform night and weekend work as needed for maintenance tasks or troubleshooting system outages
