Eckerd College is immediately hiring a Campus Safety Supervisor to serve our students at our beautiful campus in St. Petersburg. Located on nearly 200 waterfront acres on Florida's Gulf Coast, Eckerd has developed a national reputation as an innovative liberal arts and sciences community where students are empowered to improve the world.
The Campus Safety Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of the campus community. The position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Campus Safety Officers on their assigned shift, setting the example of professional conduct for campus safety officers.
Duties will include the following:
Maintaining regular visibility on campus, spending the majority of the assigned shift either in the field or in the campus safety office, available to assist Campus Safety Officers or the campus community.
Providing leadership and guidance to campus safety officers, including an appropriate example of professional conduct in dealing with the campus community and external entities.
Supervising daily activities of campus safety officers on assigned shifts including holding shift briefings, reviewing incident reports and citations, training, and managing shift coverage.
Ensuring compliance with College policies according to EC handbook, local, state, and federal laws.
Serving as shift point-of-contact for local law enforcement and emergency services.
Responding to campus incidents and prepares well-written reports and other documentation related to the incidents.
Updating campus safety administrative team on shift activities, incidents, and other issues on a regular and consistent basis.
Collaborating with employees from other departments across the campus and attending meetings representing Campus Safety.
Performing access control and locksmith duties as needed.

Applicants must be 21 years of age, possess a current and valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operator's License, and a current Florida Class D security license. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Must be willing to work the following available shift:
Wednesday 11:00 p.m. - 3:00 a.m.
Thursday 5:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m.
Friday 5:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m.
Saturday 5:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m.
Employment will require a successful background check.
