Service Contract Act (SCA) Position
Hourly Rate: $17.50 to $20.00
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Cook II reports to the Food Services Supervisor or designee and is an hourly, non-exempt position.
- The Cook II is responsible for preparing center meals, establishing menu, and determining quantities of food needed.
- The Cook II plans and coordinates procedures necessary for day-to-day operations of center dining facility.
- Efficient and timely arrangement, servicing and clean-up of meals.
- Maintains complete inventory file on food and equipment, ensures minimum waste through efficient storage, inventory, and food utilization.
- Submits weekly activity and other reports as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Degree in culinary arts preferred.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a ServSafe food safety certification.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred
- Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
Additional Requirements: Knowledge of good nutrition, especially as it pertains to youth. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Knowledge of OSHA regulations. Must meet state or local food handling requirements, whichever are more restrictive. Must maintain CPR/First Aid certification. Able to work some weekends and flexible hours. Ability to effectively relate to trainee population.
