With approximately 300 lawyers across a network of 15 offices, we provide clients with proactive, solution-oriented business and litigation counsel. We are seeking a Senior Collections Manager for our Pittsburgh, PA office.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Participates in the selection process and decision for positions within the department
- Responsible for the training of new department staff
- Manage the daily workflow within the team
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
- Manage and approve timecards and time off as necessary
- Provide first level discipline and conflict resolution

Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage the Collections Team, establish team goals, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback and coaching
- Serve as a liaison between collections and attorneys, clients, billing and other internal departments
- Manage and evolve internal collections processes and techniques, statements of account and follow-up within established parameters
- Ensure firm and client collections deadlines and policies are met and upheld
- Collaborate with attorneys to implement collection strategy, report on and monitor delinquent accounts
- Provide guidance and resolution for escalated collections inconsistencies or errors
- Regularly review aging AR to identify trends, risks and opportunities; recommend bad debt write-offs for accounts deemed to be uncollectable
- Work with Chief Financial Officer to develop targeted programs to expedite collections during designated months and at year-end (November/December).
- Prepare forecasting and other regular reports as related to collections to Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Executive Officer, as requested.
- Assist in the configuration, testing and implementation of collections systems and related workflows.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or relevant work experience required
- Minimum ten years of collections experience preferably in a law firm
- Minimum five years of supervisory experience
- Certified Credit Executive (CCE), Credit/Collection, and Financial Management certificates, preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
