Business Analyst

Summary:

The Business Analyst will be responsible for the delivery and management of one or more business applications.  The individual works closely with the business to understand, prioritize, document requirements, and manage the configuration and implementation of business applications.  The Business Analyst also ensures that the development or configuration team fully understands the requirements, and oversees the coding/configuration, testing, and deployment of all application changes. 

Job Functions:

• Understand the business applications and operational needs of the divisions supported. 
• Work closely with the business and other Business Analysts to identify requirements, prioritize the needs, document requirements, and manage them to final deployment.
• Provide  application support and QA management, including test plan development, and QA/UAT test coordination.
• Planning, coordinating and monitoring the progress of development projects to ensure their ongoing alignment with business goals.
• Serve as a liaison to the business, reporting on the status of current work items.
• Facilitate discussions and consensus among various project stakeholders, such as analysts, application programmers and business users.
• May work individually or as part of BA team.

Experience and Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Systems Management, or related field with an advanced degree desired.
• Communication and requirements definition. PROPERTY & CASUALTY
• PEGA, Workday, and/or reinsurance system experience is a plus.
• Experience with application support, requirements definition, test plan development, and QA/UAT test coordination.
• Ability to effectively plan, facilitate, and participate in meetings with employees from all organizational levels.
• Experience in writing detailed application requirements with detailed scopes of work.
• Strong skills in prioritization and reprioritization to react to a dynamic environment.
