Electronic Health Record (EHR) Data Consultant/SME
REMOTE with possible Travel in Silver Spring, MD
Part-Time (possible 100-200 hours in a year)
Task Overview
For this work, the client requests EHR subject matter expertise to support the set of common data elements developed in previous years of the project. Specifically, the client requests feedback on public comments received in order to revise and finalize the set of common data elements, and to provide EHR expertise in external engagement efforts. If additional data elements are developed for new domain areas and/or based on other RWD sources (e.g., claims data), EHR expertise is requested in order to draft an updated set of common data elements to submit RWD to the client.
EHR Subject Matter Expert:
- Advise team on EHR content.
- Can support validation of the set of data elements for regulatory review.
- Has direct knowledge and access to multiple, current EHR sources.
- Obtains and shares internal and external learning and knowledge, problem solving, strategy,
- methodologies, tool and processes.
Required skills/Level of Experience:
General skills / Specific Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of current examples EHR data and data models used in healthcare practice in the United States and/or has been involved in EHR system implementations.
- Direct knowledge and access to multiple current EHR sources (no expectation of data sharing).
- Experience with research studies for medical product safety and/or effectiveness using EHR data, with published, peer reviewed papers or presentations of work.
- Experience working with healthcare data and knowledge of data standards used in healthcare research.
- Experience with large-scale multi-institutional research studies.
Education
Minimum 5 years experience, Bachelor Degree (Level III)
