Our client a fortune 500 company has an interesting Remote Contract opportunity for you as an Employee Relations Specialist

Job length is 3 months with option to extend.
Workday is 7.5 hours per day.
Pay rate range is $45-55/hr on W2
Location: NY, NY (Location is remote, but they have to be local to NYC area as the person will need to meet with the Manager at times potentially.
Additional comments: Client needs someone with an investigations background in employee relations. This is not an admin role, but person will need to handle admin type tasks such as taking notes during investigations. Insurance background would be great but not required.
The Employee Relations Specialist role is a key member of the Human Resources (HR) team responsible for partnering with HRBP's and the Employee Relations Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as a contact for employees on employee relations matters.
• Provide guidance and support on company policies, employment laws both federal and state, and best practices related to employee relations.
• Assist the ER Lead with Investigating and resolving ER issues.
• Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures for an ease of doing business for the customer.
• Conduct audits and assessments to identify areas of improvement and ensure policy adherence in all HR operations with a focus on employee relations.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including documentation of investigations, performance improvement plans and resolutions.
• Prepare and analyze reports and metrics related to Employee Relations
• Ensure proper documentation and adherence to legal requirements for employee-related matters, such as disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and terminations.
• Assist with coaching and guidance to HRBP's on employee relations issues including but not limited to performance, conduct, policy violations, leave protocol with partnership with benefits.
• Participate in projects as assigned.
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree
• 3 plus years of HR experience preferably in an Employee Relations role with investigations
• Working knowledge of state, federal law, employment, leave, privacy and compliance laws
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Workday
• Strong time management, strategic thinking, planning and prioritization skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
