Project Overview
Client is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Trainer. This position requires a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience and a willingness to travel between 25-50% of the time to our facilities across New York State. Candidates MUST have experience in conducting three (3) or more of the following courses:
- Fall Protection/Scaffold User/Ladder Safety
- Confined Space Entry
- Aerial Lift Fork Truck
- First Aid/CPR/AED – AHSI certification preferred, along with Stop-the-Bleed
- Hearing Conservation
- Fire Prevention and Extinguisher Use
- Respiratory Protection
Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Deliver safety training to diverse audiences, including union employees, supervisors, and management personnel
- Address questions and concerns related to course content
- Capture any feedback to enhance training materials/delivery
- Develop relationships with site Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) personnel to gain an understanding of the work that is conducted at each facility to bolster training delivery
- Maintain accurate training records and use system generated reports to track attendance
- Provide guidance and support to employees regarding safety training requirements, resources, and solutions
Skills
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to a wide variety of adult learners
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices across various industries
- Proven experience in designing and delivering engaging training programs to diverse audiences, especially those in a union environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
