Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts and heavy equipment to move materials around our facility efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of materials handling processes and the ability to perform heavy lifting tasks while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, including pallet jacks, cherry pickers, and cranes, to transport materials within the warehouse or production area.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers, ensuring proper handling techniques are used.
- Perform order picking tasks accurately and efficiently to meet production schedules.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards at all times.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
- Assist in inventory management by keeping track of material movement and stock levels.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
Experience
- Previous experience operating forklifts or heavy equipment is required; certification is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation and maintenance.
- Familiarity with materials handling processes and safety regulations in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as needed, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Experience with order picking systems or inventory management software is beneficial but not mandatory.
