Job Overview
The BRAVE Trauma Recovery Center is seeking a full-time Clinical Director to join our team. The Clinical Director will participate on the executive leadership team alongside the Administrative and Program Directors who are committed to the mission, vision, and values of the Trauma Recovery Center. The BRAVE TRC is deeply committed to serving the communities of WNY, especially those communities who have faced disproportionate poverty, violence, and systemic oppression increasing barriers to mental health treatment. The BRAVE TRC aims to dismantle stigma, decrease hurdles and increase accessibility to mental health services for all individuals. The Clinical Director will take a leadership role in guiding the therapy practices of the TRC while aligning with the National Alliance of Trauma Recovery Centers’ model.
The BRAVE Trauma Recovery Center is one of 52 TRCs nationwide and a member of the National Alliance of Trauma Recovery Centers. BRAVE TRC serves victims of violent crime, their families, and homicide survivors. BRAVE TRC is a program of Erie County Medical Center and has two locations, one based at the hospital and the other in the surrounding neighborhood. BRAVE TRC works with individuals in the immediate aftermath of a violent crime both in an inpatient hospital setting and outpatient. BRAVE TRC offers comprehensive services, including intensive case management and therapeutic services to mitigate trauma symptoms and help victims achieve safety and stabilization.
Job Summary
Oversees all BRAVE TRC clinical services, including analysis and implementation of strategies to positively impact client care, reviews program outcomes and ensures services are provided using a trauma-informed, cultural humility lens, and ongoing training and support for staff. Provides leadership in developing and implementing standards of comprehensive, inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services. Possesses a grasp of advanced behavioral health knowledge and skills, a high degree of professional competence and manages clinicians, trainees, and interns.
Essential Functions
· Carry a minimal caseload of patients with the highest levels of acuity and risk for individual psychotherapy services
· Supervise the implementation and operation of supportive therapy groups for TRC participants
· Provide clinical supervision and support to TRC clinicians, interns, and trainees to ensure efficient and effective program operations and quality services
· Provide clinical supervision for on-site emergencies, including de-escalation and containment for TRC Clinical Case Managers, inters and trainees.
· Develops policies and procedures to direct clinical practice
· Provide expert information both internally and to the wider community, including preparing and providing presentations, conducting trainings and continuing education activities for professionals, consumers, stakeholders, and others.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Master’s degree in social work or mental health counseling. MS or PhD in Psychology.
Additional Requirements
Professional license: Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Must hold a current professional license and be in good standing
Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Minimum of 6 years of clinical experience.
· Minimum of 4 years supervising clinical staff
· Experience working with trauma survivors from underserved populations, including young people of color, people who are unhoused, people from immigrant and/or refugee groups, and individuals who identify as part of the LGBTQAI community.
· Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral health care delivery, including evidence-based treatment modalities, diagnostic criteria, and standards of practice.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of clinicians and support staff.
· Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency in computer applications and electronic health record (EHR) systems
· Excellent communication and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
· Supervisory experience is required.
Special Requirements
As responsibilities may require travel, must have the ability to travel between locations as needed and work flexible hours to accommodate client needs.

Pay: $83,574.00 - $95,856.00 per year
