What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Support Aide - FT - Evening Shift position at ECMC?
HOURLY RANGE : $17.554 - $22.638
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS : The work involves providing physical duties including transport
of patients and patient care while walking to multiple areas throughout the Erie County Medical Center Corporation
ECMCC) campus. The incumbent provides indirect care and direct care to patients in accordance with the policies and
regulations of Federal, State and local authorities. Work is performed under the direct supervision of higher-ranking
employees. Supervision is not a function of this position. Does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES :
Provides patient care, transport of patients identified as "unstable" per medical personnel and handling equipment and
- monitors during transport;
Locates all units and testing areas as applicable to their assignments.
Verifies at least two forms of identification with information on electronic device and information on patient's ID band
Contacts dispatch or unit with any discrepancies between information on device and identification information
Transports deceased patients to morgue and follows all policy and procedures in accordance with safe handling while
Utilizes designated break areas and scheduled break times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Graduation from high school or possession of high school equivalency diploma.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :
Possession of Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification within six (6) months of appointment.
NOTE : Verifiable part time and / or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full time experience requirements
