Duties and Responsibilities:
The Warehouse Lead Person is responsible for performing a variety of tasks as assigned by the Distribution Unit Manager and/or Distribution Unit Supervisor in order to coordinate daily operations, motivating employees and maintaining a positive work environment.
This position requires that the employee perform all essential duties as assigned which shall include the following:
- Coordinating daily activities of warehouse personnel.
- Monitoring UCS Ship Manager for daily pick weight.
- Assigning daily pick weight to pickers and following their progress.
- Moving around the warehouse floor to ensure accurate picking and quality building of unit in carts.
- Coordinating daily cycle counts with the Distribution Unit Manager and/or Supervisor.
- Responsible for compliance with employee safety programs.
- Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Such other duties and assignments that shall be made from time to time to employee from any member of the Company's management.
Requirements:
- Work overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
- Must be able to learn to operate an order picker/tug or other material handling equipment and be certified and licensed after training.
- Must possess the ability operate a handheld computer unit for the inventory picking and/or receiving processes with minimal training.
- Must be able to report to work on time as required by the schedule.
- Must be able to communicate and work with a small group of other employees as well as work independently at times with minimal supervision.
- Must wear safety shoes at all times and safety glasses with side shields when banding materials or operating equipment.
Physical Demands:
- Lift and carry loads up to 75 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, squat, reach above shoulder level, crouch kneel, push/pull material, and operate material handling equipment as required.
- Frequently use both feet and both hands.
- Firm grasping and fine manipulation with both hands as necessary.
