General Summary of Duties: Maintains first contact with all patients entering and exiting the organization for mental health appointments. Acts as liaison between all personnel and patients. Assumes responsibility for information related to patient registration and/or out-take and patient payments. Collects urine specimen for urine drug screening, reconciles patient’s current medication lists, obtains vital signs such as blood pressure, height and weight, and enters data information into the electronic medical records (EHR) system.
Mental Health Support Personnel:
· Knowledge and compliance of HIPPA and confidentiality laws for mental health services and substance use services.
· Secures patient information and maintains patient confidentiality.
· Schedule patients for mental health appointments.
· Copying information as necessary for mental health services.
· Be able to connect to tele-health services and assist as necessary.
· Complete mental health records requests.
· Other duties as assigned.
Receptionist:
· Maintains a professional demeanor, always keeping in mind that the front desk personnel make both the first and last impression on each patient.
· Responsible for greeting clients as they enter the waiting area assisting with: completing registration forms, updating information, completing Sliding Fee Discount applications, collecting co-payments and nominal fees.
· Follows Collection Procedures as a part of the intake process. Screens all Clients for prior balances. Assumes responsibility for money collected for visit payment and collects payments according to policy.
· Assumes responsibility for correctly entering all required registration and insurance information on established and new patients into the computer. Also verifies above information at each appointment to ensure that it is correct.
· Periodically checks waiting area to ensure that all patients have been registered and are being served in a timely manner and are not in acute distress.
· Exhibits awareness of cultural factors and shows competence in reducing barriers to the provisions of health care services.
· Responsible for answering telephones at the intake desk and/or exit desk, and handling the calls according to current policies and procedures as needed.
· Schedules all in-house (follow-up) and future (phone) appointments via computer while directing same day appointment calls and walk-in patients as needed.
· Addresses patient complaints as outlined in Patient Grievance Policy.
· Manages, schedules and assists patients with in-house and external behavioral health referrals following ECO Health policy.
Medical Assistant:
· Demonstrates the ability to effectively organize and prioritize work and utilize available resources to assist with efficient patient flow and promote positive patient outcomes.
· Performs phlebotomy and CLIA waved lab testing.
· Assist with patient education based on patient needs and standards of nursing care and documents in medical record.
· Follows all established Infection Control guidelines and OSHA standards.
· Utilizes the health centers Performance Improvement processes in identifying the needs related to patient care and customer service.
· Effectively performs nursing care in emergency situations.
· Maintains current certification and completes all annual education and training in a timely manner.
· Demonstrates flexibility in work roles and schedules to meet the changing needs of the health center.
· Performs physical test, taking and recording Vital Signs, medication reconciliations, Height/Weight and other demographic data when needed.
· Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with rules and regulations set forth by the governing body.
Qualifications:
· Current BLS.
· Possess strong clinical skills with preferred experience in ambulatory care.
· Experience working behavioral health populations.
· Phlebotomy skills preferred.
· Familiarity with EHR systems.
Education:
· High School Diploma or GED.
· Certification/registration in Medical Assistant from an accredited program preferred.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
