Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts and heavy equipment to efficiently move, load, and unload materials within the warehouse. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, mechanical knowledge, and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, including clamp trucks and cherry pickers, to transport materials safely within the warehouse.
- Perform heavy lifting and maneuver pallets using pallet jacks as needed.
- Load and unload products from delivery trucks while ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify any mechanical issues or maintenance needs.
- Collaborate with team members to build efficient workflows and optimize warehouse operations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred.
- Valid forklift certification is required; additional certifications for heavy equipment operation are a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the shift.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
