I. Position Description
The purpose of this position is to supervise employees in the production department. Supervises and coordinates the activities of workers assigned to the Reverberatory furnace, Electric Furnace, Refinery Operations, and employees engaged in all smelting, refining, casting, and storing lead alloys.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is required to talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works in high precarious places; in outside weather conditions. Works with conditions and materials that if not managed properly could react explosively. He is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Conducts daily inspections to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations and reports deficiencies.
- Recommends measures to improve production and equipment performance.
- Performs administrative duties such as timecards, production reports, and safety reports.
- Complies with all environmental, health, safety, and housekeeping programs.
- Examines materials and products at various stages of processing for conformance to specifications. Observes machines and equipment for malfunction and requests adjustments or repairs.
- Reviews production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
- Communicates company policies to workers; enforces safety regulations; conducts periodic safety and communication meetings.
- Assist managers and work with other supervisors and employees to implement Lean Manufacturing concepts, tools and processes.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency, applying Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Monitors furnace and refining processes ensuring that procedures are followed, and that the highest quality product is produced following Lean Rules and Principles.
- Maintains Furnace / Refinery staff orienting, and training employees. Maintains Furnace / Refinery staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Analyzes and assists in the resolution of work problems. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Complies with all environmental, health, safety, and housekeeping programs.
- Responsible for crew safety.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma
- Associates degree preferred
- 2-3 years supervisory experience in production/operations
- Excellent PC skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Environmental training applicable to the job
- Safety training for applicable equipment
- Job instructional training
- Quality system familiarization

Salary : $82,000 - $84,000
